Sen. Jeff Jackson visits Drinking Liberally!

Greetings everyone,
This coming Wednesday brings us another Drinking Liberally meeting; this week we're excited to have a special guest; Senator Jeff Jackson!
For those who aren't aware, Senator Jackson has been making waves in recent years tirelessly working to make the public aware of the extent of Gerrymandering in North Carolina elections. He's also been one of the first members of the General Assembly to use social media to bring a new level of transparency to North Carolina government; seriously he's an elected representative who cares to share information with and hear the opinions of the people he's elected to represent. As some of you may recall, two years ago as the General Assembly was making HB2 out of whole cloth in a rushed session; Senator Jackson broke the news of what was going on on Facebook. Since then he's done his level best to speak to the people of his district in plain terms about what's going on in North Carolina politics and what we can do about it and he's agreed to stop by to talk one of our meetins to talk about the shape of North Carolina politics; needless to say we're delighted to have him.
We'll be convening upstairs at Caswell Station in Elizabeth, it's a restaurant with a spacious second floor space where we normally take in State of the Unions, debates, etc. The only rub is the parking around the location is a bit counter-intuitive, Caswell Station has a lot but it's prone to filling up quickly; the construction across the street has removed one of the more obvious sister lots but there is a nearby park and shopping centers(look for the Dollar General or Pet Supplies Plus) on 7th they both have ample space.
