6.5-7.5mi Hike at McDowell Nature Preserve
Details
Here's a local hike on the south west part of town. This hike will start near the McDowell Nature Center. We'll hike into the woods, along some creeks, and then we'll check out the lakeside piers. AllTrails has us at 6.2mi, and with path deviations we should be around 6.5-7.5mi. With a casual hiking pace between 2-3mph, this will take about 2.5 hours, 3 to be safe.
We'll start promptly 5 minutes after the event begins, so please be on time. If I get a message from anyone that they're running behind, I'll hold the group back for an additional 5 minutes, but we're hitting the trail 10 minutes after the scheduled start in nearly all scenarios. If you don't see a dude with a red beard, click on the link below for parking or the pin in the event page. These parks sometimes have multiple parking lots, and you've got to make sure you're using the actual pin, not the park name.

Weather (3/10): The weather for 3/14 looks to be coolish/warm with a next to no chance of rain, and plenty of sunshine. Lot of tree cover showing on the aerials. Low chance of weather cancellation, but check the weather closer to the event in order to dress appropriately.
