The Unconventional Path to Serverless

Abstract: Not all organizations are fortunate enough to be able to do greenfield Serverless development. The reality is there are existing traditional on-premise applications that can likely take advantage of Serverless but the path isn't always clear. In this talk, we'll take you down a path from the start of the migration journey all the way through achieving Serverless nirvana. We'll start with migrating an existing asp.net web application and then go through the exercise of identifying good candidates and refactoring our solution, especially business workflows, to take advantage of Serverless platforms, such as Azure Functions, on Azure.

Speaker Bio: Josh is an industry veteran of more than 20 years with a passion for the cloud and Azure. From developer and architecture roles to management and leadership he has worn many technology hats over his career. He is currently the Global Azure Lead for the AppDynamics Cloud Team at Cisco. He has spent most of his career sharing with the technology community and has been awarded a Microsoft MVP in Azure for his work.
