Richard Hipp Talks About All Things SQLite

Needs a location

SQLite is the most widely-used database engine in the known universe, and one of the most popular software packages ever written. This month's speaker is the creator of SQLite, Dr. Richard Hipp. He'll talk to us about the inspiration and origins of SQLite, what's made it so successful and so popular, and how that popularity has been sustained over the course of its lifetime. Time permitting, he'll touch on Fossil, a distributed software configuration management system, and answer any questions you have about SQLite.

Dr. D. Richard Hipp is an independent software developer, entrepreneur, and non-conformist programmer best known as the creator of the SQLite and the Fossil. He is also the founder of Hwaci, a company providing software development and support services. Richard is a native of Charlotte and continues to make his home here.

Note: this month's meeting is in person at Advent Coworking, so if you are in the Charlotte area, this event is too good to miss! We will also stream the talk for any users who want to participate remotely.

Thanks to Knowmad for arranging for/providing the in-person space for this month's meeting, and for providing services for remote presentation.
