Update: The facility remains under strict restrictions/"red". Rotating staff members are providing "hallway bingo" with an overhead screen. The instructions below for sending items still remain in effect. No porch drops.

I was told that they "are good on calendars." :) Everyone is eager to get rid of 2020, so we must have went a little crazy with the calendars. Small personal care and toiletry items are still very useful and popular, I'm told.

I sincerely hope to resume in person bingo at some point, but in the meantime we can bring some light into the facilities with some creativity and thoughtfulness.

Wishing you all good health and peaceful holidays.

Because of the pandemic, we will not be able to visit for bingo in the foreseeable future. However, White Oak reports that residents are doing well, albeit they cannot accept visitors at this time. We know they miss their bingo game!

You are invited to think creatively to assist the activities department at White Oak. They can accept items that come directly from a carrier such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc. They cannot accept drop offs.

The residents have a variety of interests and some care package ideas might include: large print jigsaw puzzles, large print books, crosswords, sudoku, crafting supplies, cards to the residents, small items that we know bring them joy as bingo prizes (personal care items like nail polish, brushes, mirrors, combs, toothbrushes), small gifts like batteries, seasonal decorations, calendars, small journals, pens, pencils....The possibilities really are far-ranging.

Given that we cannot visit in person, perhaps we can send some love by way of packages.

If you do send items, it would be helpful to include a note that you heard of this initiative through our Thursday Night Bingo Meetup.

Thank you for your consideration!
