Greg Koscevic from our friends at Red Ventures has very kindly offered to give a talk to juniors on turning pro. He took web development classes from college and had to make the difficult transition from student/hobbyist to professional. Should be a really interesting talk with practical advice, especially for boot camp grads.
Speaker bios:
Greg Koscevic has been working as a Front End developer for 4 years, starting his career at a Digital Agency in Pennsylvania and then relocating to Charlotte to work at Red Ventures. He enjoys researching new and upcoming technologies and further enhancing his current skill-set to provide value for the end-user.
Shekinah Smith has been working as a Front End Developer for a little over 4 years at Red Ventures. Initially, her career aspirations were in the film and television industry. After attending Elon's Interactive Media program, she made the transition to development. She enjoys being challenged and learning new front end technologies.
Andrew Coulter is an Associate Engineer at Red Ventures specializing in Backend technologies such as Golang and MySQL. Andrew started on the Sales side at RV and made the switch to Engineering through RV’s Internal Tech Academy, which specializes in giving Sales and Business associates the opportunity to move into a Tech role.
