Start your weekend off early with a brisk 4.4 mile run (or 4.5 - 4.6 run, depending on how closely you hug curbs!), or a 3.1 mile option, and then come socialize with fellow runners (and new friends!) with great food and eats at the Philosopher's Stone! We are a very friendly and diverse group, so if you want to meet lots of runners and run/train with somebody your pace, this is the place to be! If you want to kick back, socialize and have fun with other runners in a low-pressure environment, again, this is your place to be! If you like to wear running skirts, male or female, well, again, this is the right place to be! Nervous about trying one of those brewery runs, but like good beer? This run is perfect in the summer with giant shade trees, and $2ish Rolling Rock tall boys and other domestics, and $3 drafts (i.e. Highland Mocha Stout, Sweetwater 420, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and more.)

Want to know more? Details below:

PLACE: We will be meeting in the back patio area of The Philosopher's Stone (located at the corner of 7th Street and S. Caswell). After 6:30-6:35, runners will walk across Caswell and start the run on Greenway. The turn by turn directions are listed below and a course map is located here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/us/charlotte-nc/charlotte-runners-rolling-p-stone-thursd-route-26005148 .

PARKING: is available behind the Philosopher's Stone and Jackalope Jacks. There is also parking in the office building lot behind Jackalopes (access: from Jack's parking lot, or the immediate right after the turn into P'Stone's lot, on S. Caswell). Please try and not park across the street (where VISART-VIDEO is) and in the parking lot at the corner of 7th and Pecan (across the street from P-Stone). There has been an increase in towing activity, and new "no parking" signs have gone up. There is also plenty of area street parking.

COURSE: This is a safe, well marked, street-lighted 4.4 mile loop run through the Elizabeth/Eastover neighborhood. For runners that want to run longer, just do the loop twice! For runners who are new or just want to take it easy try the 5k option.

Cross over Randolph Road

Continue on Laurel Ave.

Right on Vail Ave.

Left on N. Dotger Ave.

Left on Kenmore Ave.

Right on Ridgeway Ave.

Left on Greenway Ave.

Finish @ corner of Greenway and Caswell!

HOW HARD IS THE COURSE? It's a typical Charlotte run, rolling hills but fortunately shaded, and nothing too difficult that's not over pretty soon. If you can run 2.5 - 3 miles without stopping you'll be fine; 4.5 miles feels a lot less when running with others! There are water fountains at the corner of Ridgeway and Greenway, and Dotger and Colville

AFTER-RUN FESTIVITIES: Be sure to stick around afterward as we eat, drink and socialize at our own private bar and patio at The P-Stone! On Thursday nights The P-Stone reserves the back room and patio for the Charlotte Runners from 7:30 pm -10pm where we will have our own bar, bartenders, music, pool and Foosball table, internet jukebox, etc.! The P-Stone is providing us free water after our run, plus extra special discounts on food and beer. Yes, the ever popular Tall Boy PBR's, Rolling Rock, and Millers will be just 2 bucks flat (that includes the tax), but even better, all drafts beer are just $3. The P-Stone also offers a "Runners' Menu" just for us, where all meals are 6 bucks or less!
