Cole Mountain via the A.T.

Come with me on a Halloween hike through the forest to a wide open bald with spectacular views.
This is a moderate hike of 6 miles and 1300 feet of elevation climb. This hike took me approximately 3.5 hours including lunch on top of Cole Mountain.
We will meet on Wiggins Spring road (Route 755) at the Cole Mountain parking lot. From there we will hike down Route 755 and bare right on the Old Hotel trail through the forest. We will start with a small descent, and small ascent followed by another small descent. Near Cow camp Gap, we will bear right on the A.T. North and begin the climb up Cole mountain at the 3 mile mark. We will climb to over 4000 feet to the top of a large bald with spectacular views. Here we will stop for lunch, take in the views and end with a descent back to route 755 parking area.
