Austin Mountain

8 mile loop, moderate/strenuous.
Located in the southern district of Shenandoah National Park, this hike starts on a fire road then ascends very steeply up on Austin Mountain Trail, crosses some rock slides, and goes along the top of a mountain before finishing on the Madison Run Fire Road. Meet at Grottoes Food Lion at 9:00 a.m.

For those interested, we plan to gather at LiL’ Guss’ located at 703 Dogwood Avenue , Grottoes after the hike for a social gathering.
