Ivy Creek Maintenance Hut Open House and Hike

Chuck Troutman, maintainer of the Ivy Creek Maintenance Hut is hosting an open house at the Ivy Creek Shelter. He will bring his flat top grill and offer hot dogs and/or chili and cider. Bring a dish to share if you want.

We will hike in the Loft Campground area that will end at the Ivy Creek Shelter. There are options of how much of the AT we could hike, but I plan to cover sections from Loft Mountain amphitheater to Ivy Creek Shelter (approximately 4.5 miles total). We will gather at 9:30 at Loft Mountain Wayside. If you want, bring hand clippers, and we can clip as we hike.

It’s for anyone that is interested trail maintenance. We will hike and clip a little. Come on with me. Carpooling will be available from Rockfish Gap.
