Mutton Hollow Loop

Come hike in the PATC's Mutton Hollow area located next to Shenandoah National Park below the east ridge of Hightop Mountain. The hollow contains around 1000 acres with 12 miles of great hiking trails and seven rental cabins. We will do a 5 mile loop starting in Mutton Hollow on Mattie's Run Road and hike up the ridge to a number of cabins. Than follow the old CCC Road over to a trail back down to Mattie's Run Road. Please bring water, food and a smile. Note that this is a mountainous area and the hike will be moderately strenuous. Meet at 10am in front of the Great Valu grocery store in Stanardsville, Virginia.
