Austin Mountain- Madison Run Rd Loop Rescheduled

A moderate to Strenuous 9-mile 1700 elevation gain loop hike using the Austin Mountain Trail and Madison Run Fire Road located in the southern district of Shenandoah National Park. This hike starts on a fire road then ascends very steeply up the Austin Mountain Trail, crossing some rockslide, then along the top of a mountain before returning on the Madison Run Fire Road. Dress for the weather and be sure to bring Hiking Poles and Rain Gear. Micro Spikes are always a good idea in winter. No dogs for this hike. After hike Rehydration at Lil’ Gus's located at 703 Dogwood Avenue in Grottoes. Update to registered participants the day before hike.
