Pocahontas State Park

This will be a ramble through Piedmont Forest and along lakeshores of about 8-9 miles and 600 ft of elevation gain. Starting at 9:30am Sharp from the Picnic- Swimming Area Parking Lot, we will loop through the forest around Swift Run Lake before returning to the Picnic Area for lunch. There will then be the opportunity to continue our hike with a loop around Beaver Lake. Weather Permitting, there will be an after-hike rehydration at the Picnic Area. A Virginia State Park Pass or Daily Use Fee per vehicle is required. The hike is limited 14 with No Dogs for this one. Carpooling opportunities will be possible.
