We will be helping trail maintainers Lisa Swales, Linda Beights, and Andy Summers clear water bars and cut back vegetation on their section of the Appalachian Trail from Rip Rap Trailhead parking lot in Shenandoah National Park. Wear work clothes, work gloves, protective eyewear, and bring a daypack, water, snacks, insect repellent/sunblock, and rain gear. If you have loppers bring them, but we will also have tools, hard hats, and extra gloves/protective eyewear. We will divide into groups doing vegetation cut-back or water bar clearing. No experience necessary- we will guide you. Remember to bring your National Park Pass or contact leader if you do not have one. Car pool if you can!
