The Nest Shift: Caribou Coffee at Chaska Gateway Plaza

We will meet at Caribou Coffee at: Gateway address in Chaska, MN 55318 and have coffee or tea, snacks and chat about our upcoming or current empty nest experience. I have short brown hair, and I will be at a table big enough for 6 people.

The "empty nest" – that quiet house after the kids move out – might sound like a simple concept, but it's actually a pretty complex emotional shift.

Back in the early 20th century, the initial idea was that it could be a really tough time, especially for moms who saw raising kids as their main gig (an in modern days it is their main gig in addition to their career).

But as we've learned more, it turns out to be a mixed bag of feelings. You might feel a pang of loss and a bit of emptiness, sure, but there's also often this surprising sense of relief and even excitement about finally having more time and freedom for yourself.

It's a major life stage, and how we navigate that blend of emotions is something worth understanding better and doing this together!
