The Nature of Power

Details
For most of our existence, humans lived in hunter-gatherer tribes that revered the concept of individual free will. The ancient authors of Genesis went so far as to say free will was the image of god--a common thread with indigenous tribes worldwide even if described differently.

If modern concepts of power are relatively recent developments, is it even real? The consequences certainly are. Are there better ways to structure power for a more contented society? If so, what would that look like and how would we build it?
