Separating the Art from the Artist

The issue of how and whether to separate the art from the artist is a perennial. (Though it mainly relates to when ‘good art’ is produced by an artist found to be morally bad in some way, it could conceivably relate to the opposite: someone considered morally virtuou whose art is perhaps overrated as a result.)

As with many unresolvable moral quandaries, there are likely both profound shifts over time and differences between groups and individuals.
