How to Stop Worrying and Start Living By Dale Carnegie
Details
PLEASE NOTE MEETING DATE CHANGE TO FRIDAY 23rd.
What?! We'll review a book first published in 1948?
This book might appear dated at first, however, the principles are exactly the same as you would find in many of the current books written within the last 30 years. We still worry about life the same way we worried 50, 80, 100 years, ago. Granted, 80 years ago nobody worried about wi-fi signal, inflation, wars, or crooked politicians, etc. (Lol. that was a joke)
You can find free YouTube audio book versions of How to stop worrying and start living by Dale Carnegie. You may to own your own copy. This book is a classic.
Topics to discuss at this meeting:
- Chapter 1. Live in day-tight compartments. Do we ruminate constantly about the past, or plan about things we'll do differently in the future?
Chapter 2. Acceptance. It is what is.
Chapter 3. Ask yourself, what is the worst that can happen?
Chapter 9. Co-operate with the inevitable. Shit happens. How we react to it determines our level of unhappiness.
Serenity prayer: "God, Grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference. "
Chapter 12. Just for Today I will be happy. Just for today I will be unafraid. Just for today I will.....
Chapter 15. Count your blessings-not your troubles.
This books consists of 27 chapter plus a bunch personal stories at the end.
Come to the meeting and share your opinions, or your favorite chapter from this book. The entire book is full of practical down to earth wisdom.
This meeting is not a lecture. All of your opinions are welcome.
