Tour of Italy Wine Dinner

Hey Winos!

Giro d'Italia is the theme of our upcoming wine dinner hosted by our friends at Villa Capri 2 Family Style Trattoria, who are well known for their outstanding food and service. Winos R Us members and their guests will enjoy a delicious 4-course meal paired with equally delicious wines that will take you on a tour ("giro") of Italy.http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/b/c/2/event_65152162.jpeg

Upon arrival you will be greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco and bite-size appetizers prior to being seated for the 1st course at 7pm. For those of you who'd like to come early for some mixing and mingling, feel free to make your way to the private dining room as early as 6pm. A quick presentation of each wine and pairing will be provided by Marci Kravitz, our lovely wine expert and presenter for the evening. Following the dessert course, we'll be raffling off 2 gift certificates to a future wine dinner at Villa Capri 2 (valued at $50 each) as well as some bottles of wine personally selected by Marci. Estimated timeline for the evening is as follows:

4pm - 6:30pm: Villa Capri 2 Happy Hour at the bar 6pm - 7pm: Mixer Hour (includes complimentary glass of Prosecco and bite-size appetizers) 1st Course - Mozarella Caprese: Fresh Mozarella with organic tomatoes, basil, extra virgin olive oil and a balsamic vinegar reduction. Paired with Villa Sandi Prosecco NV. 2nd Course - Pappardelle alla Bolognese: Fresh Pappardelle pasta with homemade bolognese sauce. Paired with 2009 Frescobaldi Remole Super Tuscan. 3rd Course - Filetto alla Gorgonzola: Beef medallions, gorgonzola sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. Paired with 2008 Masi Campofiorini Ripasso. Dessert - Chef's Creation: a sweet surprise with a little red wine to finish you off 8:30pm: approximate end time of formal dinner Only Winos R Us members and their guests will receive a generous 40% discount off the regular price for this dinner (only $30 instead of $50, excluding tax and gratuity). http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/c/b/7/2/event_65152082.jpegEach person will receive one raffle ticket during the dinner, and the prizes will be announced during the dessert course. As an added bonus for the evening, bottles of each wine poured at this dinner will be discounted for all attendees. Please note there will be a limited supply available to take home that evening, but orders can be placed with Marci and the wines will be available for pick-up in a week.

PLEASE NOTE: Payments are not required until the end of the dinner where parties will receive seperate bills. Please keep your RSVPs up to date so that we can provide an accurate headcount (which allows Villa Capri to be adequately prepared).
