Hey Winos!

Announcing our latest bus adventure...a unique, first-class tasting experience of delicious artisan wines from two urban wineries along our beautiful San Diego coast. "Urban Wineries" refer to wine producers who have choosen to locate their winemaking facility in an urban setting within a city rather than in the traditional rural, vineyard setting. With advances in technology and transportation, it is not a problem for urban wineries to grow their grapes in a remote location and then transport them to the urban facility for crushing, fermentation and aging.

Join us for guaranteed good times on our 47-seater party bus. We've got everything covered, including round-trip transportation (tax and gratuity included), tasting fees at both wineries (12-14 tastes), a souvenir wine glass, special Winos-only discounts, ice, cups, corkscrews, bottled waters, and some winolicious raffle prizes up for grabs. Plus, the first 20 winos (and their guests) who secure their spots with payment will also receive a complimentary 500 mL organic Chardonnay from Cal Naturale (http://www.calnaturale.com/index.php).

THE PLAN: A total of 12-14 tasts of hand-crafted artisan wines presented by the winemakers and cellar masters themselves. Our first stop will be Carruth Cellars (http://carruthcellars.com/) in the heart of Cedros Design District. http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/7/0/8/event_114810472.jpegWinos will receive 50% off glasses of wine from the tap, and 10% off any wine bottle purchases. There is also bread, cheese and fruit for sale to complement the tasting. Then we'll head to Fifty Barrels (http://www.fiftybarrels.com/), a unique Southern Coast winery because they import 100% of their http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/8/2/0/event_114810752.jpeggrapes from Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles. Includes logo souvenir glass. Any Wino who joins the Fifty Barrels wine club will receive a free bottle of their Rose.

OUR RIDE: Getting there is half the fun! It's easy to mix and mingle on a party bus since everyone is facing center. Hey, what's that? PAYMENT: PREPAYMENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SECURE YOUR SPOT ON THE BUS!!! Seats will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 20 winos to pay for their spots will receive a complimentary 500 mL of organic Cal Naturale Chardonnay. The $45 fee will be increased to $55 after midnight on Friday, May 25th. Please refer to the refund policy posted at the top of the page.

RAFFLE PRIZES: To show you how much we appreciate your company, each person will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win one of several winolicious prizes on board, including several pairs of tickets to Belly Up shows. PICK-UP/DROP OFF LOCATIONS: There are 2 pick-up/drop-off locations with free parking. Please note the pick up time and aim to arrive EARLY. We are on a schedule with the wineries and the on-time winos will not be happy with the stragglers! Mapquest or google map the location beforehand if you’re not familiar with it. In case of emergency only, we will send out contact numbers a few days prior.

  1. Old Town Transit Center - pick up at 12:30pm. Address: 4009 Taylor Street, San Diego 92110 (entrance on Pacific Hwy). We'll meet under the freeway. Return at ~5:30pm.

  2. Carruth Cellars, Solana Beach - meet at 1:00pm for tasting; bus departs by 2:30pm. Address: 320 S. Cedros Ave., Solana Beach, CA 92075. Return at ~5pm. Note: there is plenty of parking 1/3 of a mile away at the Amtrak Station (105 N. Cedros Ave.)
