About us

Welcome to CAFI – Chennai AI Fluency Initiative.

We’re a community of developers, builders, founders, and curious learners exploring what AI fluency actually looks like in practice. As AI tools rapidly reshape how software, products, and businesses are built, the goal of CAFI is simple: help more people understand the tools, workflows, and ideas behind this shift.

We host in-person meetups, talks, demos, and hands-on sessions in Chennai, along with occasional online events and discussions. Topics range from AI-assisted coding and modern developer workflows to LLMs, agents, and practical use cases from people actively building with AI.

Expect practical sessions, lively discussions, and a community of people figuring this new landscape out together.

Code, Cricket, and Claude: An IPL watch party + tech talk with the builders of ICL 2026

The Ideas2IT Cricket League recently wrapped its 10th edition. 300+ employees. 12 teams. 7–8 turf cricket venues. Two weeks of matches. Three months of prep. And running underneath all of it — a custom-built, open-source platform handling live auctions and scoreboards, built entirely in-house.

In association with Ideas2IT, CAFI is hosting a watch party for DC vs CSK, and before the first ball is bowled, the team that built ICL’s tech backend will walk you through the build — demo included.

See the platform in action, dig into the code, and hear how AI fluency shaped the way they worked.

What does it actually look like when a team ships something real — not a demo, not a prototype — under real pressure, with real users watching the scoreboard refresh? That’s the conversation.

Then we watch cricket. And at the innings break, a speaker joins to take the discussion further.
