From Prompt to Production: A Live Claude Code Build Session
Most AI demos are polished. Pre-recorded. Edited to remove the messy bits.
This one isn't.
On Friday, 3 April, a legend in AI-native development - Arun Ganesan (Co-Founder, Ideas2IT) is walking into a room of developers, coders, AI practitioners and enthusiasts, to build something with Claude Code live — in real time, with nothing pre-loaded and nothing hidden.
Every prompt decision, every iteration, every moment where the output needs pushing back on — narrated as it happens.
This is what AI-assisted development actually looks like in practice. Not the highlight reel but the REAL workflow.
***
What you'll see
A complete development loop, live:
→ How to write a prompt that gets useful output the first time
→ How to evaluate what Claude Code gives you — and when to push back
→ How the iteration cycle works in practice
→ What a working feature looks like at the end of it
Then an honest conversation about what this means for how developers work — the genuine upside, the real limitations, and what you can do differently starting next Monday.
***
Who this is for
Developers who've been curious about Claude Code but haven't seen it in a real workflow. Engineers who've used it a little but want to understand it better. Tech leads thinking about how AI tools change how teams operate. Students and freshers who want to understand where software development is heading. And anyone who's tired of hearing about AI and just wants to see it work.
No prior experience with Claude Code needed. Bring your laptop if you want to follow along hands-on — we'll share a setup guide before the event.

About the speaker
Arun Ganesan is Senior Director of Technology at Ideas2IT (and also a Co-Founder) — but the title undersells what he actually does.
Over 15 years, he's built data pipelines, designed distributed systems, led engineering teams through large-scale transformations, and worked as a solutions architect across enterprise and PE-backed companies.
He's the kind of engineer who builds first and talks about it later.
About a year ago, he went all in on Claude Code — not as an experiment, but as his actual way of working. He spent that year building real production applications end-to-end with AI assistance, figuring out what works, what doesn't, and what the workflow actually looks like when the hype strips away.
He documented the whole journey in Prompt to Production — a 19-chapter, hands-on guide to AI-assisted development that's become a go-to resource for developers getting started with Claude Code. It's not a blog post. It's a full curriculum, built from a year of real-world practice.
He has 4,000+ followers on LinkedIn, not because he posts opinions about AI — but because when he shares something, it comes from having actually built it. You can follow him on LinkedIn too,
On April 3, he's not giving a talk. He's doing the work in front of the room you're in. Join us!

IMPORTANT
We set the cap at 45 intentionally. Small enough that the Q&A is a real conversation, not a queue at a microphone. When it fills, it fills.

What to bring
Your laptop — ideally with Claude Code already installed.
If you want to follow along hands-on during the live demo, having Claude Code set up before you arrive makes a real difference. We'll share a step-by-step install guide in the Meetup chat before the event. It takes about 10 minutes and you'll need an Anthropic account — both are free to set up.
No laptop? No problem. The session works just as well as a watch-and-learn. But if you have one, bring it.
How to find the venue
We'll drop the exact office address and any parking or entry instructions in the Meetup chat closer to the date. Keep an eye on notifications.

About CAFI
This is the first event from CAFI — the Chennai AI Fluency Initiative. We're a community of developers, builders, founders, and curious learners building something simple: a regular space in Chennai where people actually get to grips with AI tools, workflows, and ideas — through people who are actively using them, not just talking about them.
More sessions coming in May and June. Different topics, different depths, same room-of-people-figuring-it-out-together energy.
This event is in association with Ideas2IT Technologies.
