About:

We are excited to announce our 2nd meetup of Chennai-CUG.

Sorry for skipping the meetup that was supposed to happen in March. We wanted to have a hands-on and for that to be really effective, we wanted it in person. Given the situation, we don't want to postpone the session further, let's march towards an active community of Clojure.

Expectation:

This session and a series of follow-up sessions are organized for any programmer to get started with Clojure.

And to get really comfortable with Clojure, we are planning to have a walkthrough followed by a hands-on session.

To start light, we will give an overview of some basic construct, try some sample snippets, and end the session with some practice problems.

From our side, we'll ensure that the necessary basics are conveyed for you to start with the practice problems. From your side, we expect you to take the time to practice the problems and reach out to us if you need any help.

Setup:

We'll be using the gitpod for the session. So the setup should be straightforward. Please follow the instructions from here (https://github.com/chclj/clojure-gitpod).

  • Tour of Clojure Landscape [30 mins]
  • Intro to basic language structures with examples hands-on. [1 hr 30 mins]
  • Networking, Questions and Discussion [30 mins]
