In this workshop event, you will learn how to deploy multiple microservices into Kubernetes and move a live application from staging to production.

This event is designed for beginners to understand the kubernetes and also use the workshop as a stepping stone to deploy your application into kubernetes. It is designed with realtime challenges.

You will learn the following:

  • Setup Kubernetes.
  • Create a Kubernetes cluster.
  • Upload docker file to docker hub.
  • Use key vault to access connection strings.
  • Create a Helm chart.
  • Deploy the Multiple services using the Helm chart to staging.
  • Move multiple services using Helm chart from staging to Production.
  • Destroy applications using the Helm chart.

Pre-Requisites:

  1. Install DOCKER. Open PowerShell and Run the docker run hello-world command.
  2. Make sure you have installed Visual studio code in your system. You can download @ https://code.visualstudio.com/download
  3. Create an Azure account with an active subscription. If you don’t have one Create an account for free[https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/?ref=microsoft.com&utm_source=microsoft.com&utm_medium=docs&utm_campaign=visualstudio]
  4. Install Helm in your system. You can download the Helm 3, https://github.com/helm/helm/releases/tag/v3.3.1
  5. Create an account in docker hub if you don't have one already(https://hub.docker.com/signup)
