What we’re about
This social club is for those who enjoy letter writing, sending happy mail & postcards, and creating mail art. It's for all those who enjoy encouraging others through the written word. We will meet in person once a month to share creativity and work on letter-writing or postcard projects together. We can write letters or send postcards to pen pals, friends, relatives, or even strangers.
Letter writing and postcard writing are wonderful hobbies to share with the whole family, but our events are intended for adult participation. Child care is not provided, so please make any necessary arrangements. You can message me directly to discuss this or if you have any questions.
People new to letter writing or postcard sending are welcome, but we do not provide pen pals. However, I can offer some options on how to find a pen pal. There are many resources available.
Paper, postcards, writing utensils, and postage stamps will not be provided. Although I do encourage everyone to bring their stickers, stamps, ephemera, and other supplies to share.
The group's success depends on member participation. If you do not participate, the group will not survive. Events and activities may expand depending on group interest and availability.
Group Guidelines:
All adults are welcome.
Be respectful and courteous.
Be kind.
If you have RSVPed for an event but can’t attend, please be sure to change your status and notify the event host.
Repeat no-shows may be removed from the group.
If you have not visited the site or participated within 6 months, you may be removed from the group.
We will always look for free spaces to meet, but in some cases, room rental fees may apply. This could result in a small share-of-cost fee per event attendee. This will be stated upfront in the event details.
Event Cancellations:
General policy: If there are fewer than three RSVPs for an event, the event will be canceled. I will make an effort to inform the group of the cancellation prior to the scheduled meeting time.
In the event of unforeseen circumstances or an emergency, an event may be canceled without notification (beyond what is provided through the Meetup platform).
