There are spots reserved on the attending list for members who rent kayaks and for those who have paid the voluntary annual dues. They will receive preferential treatment on the wait list.

Finish off the holiday weekend in style with this Laid Back Social Paddle on Sunday afternoon. Water levels are still unusually high this year so we can still make it up Cattail Creek. We will be done in time for everyone to make it to one last holiday weekend barbecue.

TO PADDLE AT TRIADELPHIA OR ROCKY GORGE RESERVOIRS YOU MUST PURCHASE A DAY USE PERMIT FOR $6.00 OR A SEASON PERMIT FOR $70.00. They can be purchased online at http://www.wsscwater.com or at the shack near Brighton Dam. With 7 different kayak launch points between them we will paddle enough on Triadelphia and Rocky Gorge to more than pay for the season pass if you attend regularly.

We'll be on the water promptly at 3:30 PM from the boat ramp at the Big Branch Recreation Area . Please plan to arrive with plenty of time to have your boat and gear ready to launch by then. We do not wait for late arrivals.

This should be about an 7 to 8 mile paddle at a gentle pace heading up Cattail Creek. Even newer paddlers should be able to do this one as long as you can handle paddling for an hour each way with a rest/snack stop in the middle. We will stop off the water for a rest/snack break somewhere around the midpoint in the paddle so bring something to eat and perhaps something to share. I expect we will be back to the takeout somewhere around 6:00 PM.

Rental kayaks including a paddle and PFD are available for this paddle for $40.00 ($35.00 for those who have paid the voluntary dues). To reserve one you must answer the rental question when you RSVP.
