Come along to our **Social Chess Night at Carlingford Bowling Club**. Whether you play regularly, haven't touched a chessboard in years, or simply enjoy a casual game, you're welcome to join us.

This is **social chess – not a tournament and definitely not professional competition**. There are no ratings, no pressure and no expectation that you need to be an amazing player. Just turn up, find an opponent, play a few games and enjoy the night.

There are **no event fees or charges**. You can simply come along, play as much or as little as you like, have a chat with other chess players and leave whenever you're ready.

The idea is simple: **people getting together and playing chess for fun**.
You might play someone completely new, have a rematch, try an unusual opening, spend 20 minutes analysing one position, or just enjoy a few relaxed games.
There is no formal tournament structure and no requirement to stay for the full session.

**Beginners, casual players and experienced players are all welcome. **

**You must bring your ID with you. **
Carlingford Bowling Club requires visitors to have ID for entry, so please make sure you bring it. Unfortunately, the club may not allow you to enter without ID.

Please note that **children are not permitted at this event due to the club's entry requirements. **
This is an **adults-only social chess meetup**.

This is an independent social gathering for people who enjoy chess. **We are not affiliated with FIDE, Chess Australia, the NSW Chess Association or any other official chess organisation.**But your rating in chess will definitely help you in the chess night.

There are no memberships to buy, no coaching packages and no obligation to purchase anything.
