🇺🇸 America Has A Problem: Choosing Yourself Over The Struggle
Date & Time:
📅 Tuesday, September 9, 2025 · 6:00 PM
📍 4SEAS Nimman, Chiang Mai
Description:
Community dialogue on the universal experience of leaving your homeland when systems fail.
With 21% of Americans wanting to permanently leave their country — the highest ever recorded — this isn’t just an “American problem.” Around the world, people face the impossible choice of staying in broken systems or choosing themselves by leaving.
This conversation is for anyone who has:
- Left home due to political instability, economic collapse, corruption, or social unrest
- Struggled with watching their country from abroad
- Questioned what they owe to those who couldn’t leave
- Worked to build new roots while still honoring their origins
We’ll explore together:
- What was your breaking point? The moment you realized you had to choose between your wellbeing and staying in America (or elsewhere) to “fight the good fight.”
- How do you handle the guilt—if any—about leaving while family and friends are still dealing with the chaos back home? Do you feel like you abandoned the struggle or saved yourself?
- What does ‘choosing yourself’ actually look like in practice? How has prioritizing your peace and safety changed your daily life, mental health, or future planning?
Who should join:
✔️ Expats, digital nomads, and immigrants
✔️ Anyone who has left their homeland — or thought about it
✔️ People curious about displacement, identity, and belonging
This is an open dialogue, not a political rally. All perspectives and nationalities are welcome. The focus will be on lived experiences, shared reflections, and community understanding.
