Our very on Josh Martin has been accepted to give a talk about 3D photography at Hackaday's Supercon! As a trial run he will be giving a talk on the following topic:
3D photography isn’t just for vintage nerds or high-end tech—it’s something you can create at home with a bit of patience, a few tools, and a lot of curiosity. This talk explores the intersection of analog and digital in the world of stereoscopy: how to shoot 3D photos and videos with film cameras, digitize the results, and bring them to life through lenticular printing using accessible materials and open-source tools.
We’ll cover:
- How stereo film cameras work and how to shoot with them today
- Digitizing, aligning, and processing 3D images from analog sources

So I received the suggestion that we host some design contest! so What a better time then for the Holiday Season!
What are we designing:
Objects related to the holiday season (E.G. Christmas, New Years, Hanukkah). Could stuff hang on a Christmas tree, Things wear on your head or face to bring in the New Year or maybe a interesting looking dreidel!Rules:
- Can not spend longer then one day (8 hours) to create the design. take as long as you want to print it!
- Has to be related to the holiday season, fake holidays are welcome.
- Respectful of others and their beliefs
- Have fun!
Judging:
Each participate will get a 1 minute to talk about what they have designed! We will judge the winner off clapping and audience noise.
If you don't want to get in front of the crowd to talk that is fine too. I can just hold your thing up and we clap. We don't have any money to give out as prize money (yet, sponsor us? ha), but participates and winners will get limited addition stickers for entry!Food and Drinks:
No food and drink will provide at this event sadly. But Sully has lots of affordable food and drinks options.
