Details
Our very on Josh Martin has been accepted to give a talk about 3D photography at Hackaday's Supercon! As a trial run he will be giving a talk on the following topic:
3D photography isn’t just for vintage nerds or high-end tech—it’s something you can create at home with a bit of patience, a few tools, and a lot of curiosity. This talk explores the intersection of analog and digital in the world of stereoscopy: how to shoot 3D photos and videos with film cameras, digitize the results, and bring them to life through lenticular printing using accessible materials and open-source tools.
We’ll cover:
- How stereo film cameras work and how to shoot with them today
- Digitizing, aligning, and processing 3D images from analog sources
- The mechanics of lenticular lenses and how to print convincing 3D images at home
- Lessons learned, DIY gear setups, and where the workflow still sucks
Please be ready to learn something new and come with your feedback.
