Who we are
We’re a diverse group of people who enjoy Chicago’s vibrant arts & culture scene. We like to experience live performances, hands-on workshops, exhibits, tours, and more. Through arts & culture experiences, we hope to connect with each other, learn something interesting, and have fun! Whether you are familiar with Chicago’s arts & culture scene or completely new to it, you are welcome to join us!
What to expect at our events
We primarily attend in-person events organized by museums, galleries, theaters, concert halls, restaurants, etc. located in or around downtown Chicago. We meet at the venue ahead of the event and engage throughout the event to share the experience as a group. As mentioned, the idea is to connect with each other, learn something interesting, and have fun!
Some events are free and others require payment to the venue directly. This Meetup group does not require membership fees.
About the organizer
Hi, I'm Anita. Over the years, I've discovered some of the world-renowned arts & culture experiences that Chicago has to offer as well as the hidden gems. While I'm not an expert, not artistic, and not one for the stage myself, I am a curious lifelong learner who appreciates diverse forms of self-expression. I'm excited to share these experiences with you!

Join the Chicago History Museum's History Buff volunteer guide Dave Gudewicz to explore the history of the Sheffield/DePaul neighborhood. The area was once home to immigrants who worked in the local factories, then wealthy Victorian-era families, and is now home to a university and its students. Stroll past Italianate and Queen Anne-style architecture and see the sites of Hollywood films. The tour concludes at the family-owned Kelly’s Pub where you’re welcome to grab a drink with the guide.

We will meet at the Fullerton Red/Brown Line L stop street-level entrance at 11:45am and check-in with the tour guide. If you have trouble finding the group, leave a message in this event page or message me directly. The tour will begin at 12pm and will run for 1.5 to 2 hours.You are welcome to join us at Kelly’s Pub after the tour for a drink and/or food if you would like.
