Lake Front Trail Hike -Start to Finish

Saturday Nov. 14, all day, I intend to Hike the full Chicago Lakefront Trail.

Current plan is to catch the Metra Electric 7:40 am train from Millennium Station arriving at the South Shore station at 8:06 am. The station is 1/4 mile from the start of the trail at 2500 East 71st Street. I hope to finish at "Hollywood" beach near Lane Beach, a 1/4 mile from the Thorndale Redline stop. (The CTA #6 Jackson Park Express also goes from the Loop to the trail start area.)

I expect to be taking 10 minute breaks every three miles with a 30-40 minute lunch break downtownish around 9 miles. Starting with a 3mph pace I would hope to maintain at least a 2.5mph average for the roughly 18 mile trip. I do expect to be "off trail" for some stretches.

I am 80 years old. Of late I've been averaging 4.5 miles a day walking with an 8 and 9 mile long hike interspersed recently. So doable but just in case I am prepared to catch transit home from mid-hike.

I am welcoming company for all of part of the trail. :)
