Hey everyone! 👋

I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself. My name is Tulio, and I originally started this group while I was studying AWS and exploring cloud certifications. My path has shifted a bit since then — I’m currently focused more on frontend web development — but I still see a lot of value in this group and the opportunity to bring people together.
I’d love for AWS Chicago to become more than just a Meetup group. My hope is to build a friendly, useful, and positive community for people interested in AWS, cloud, software development, AI, DevOps, cybersecurity, data, and tech in general.
Whether you’re experienced, learning, changing careers, or just curious, I think there’s a lot we can learn from each other.
For our first step, I’d love your input:
What would be the best way for us to connect initially?

  1. Create a Discord server for casual conversation, resources, and community
  2. Create a Slack workspace for networking and professional discussion
  3. Start with a simple LinkedIn introduction thread
  4. Schedule a casual virtual meetup / intro event
  5. Schedule an in-person coffee or casual brewery hangout in Chicago
  6. Something else — comment with your idea!

I’m open to suggestions. I want this to be something people actually enjoy and find useful, not just another online group that goes quiet.
Please vote, and feel free to introduce yourself in the comments: what you do, what you’re learning, or what kind of tech conversations you’d enjoy.
Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Take a few second to go over the Poll and we can get to know each other!

— Tulio
