About the Trip:
This is an overnight trip to Forest Glen Preserve. We will leave early on Saturday morning and arrive by 10:00 am at Forest Glen and hike approximately 3 miles to camp. We will finish with about 6-8 miles on Sunday and have a group meal for those wish at a local restaurant.

Itinerary:
Saturday, September 6
Leave home in time to arrive at Forest Glen Preserve by 10:00 am. (normally 3 hours from downtown Chicago)
Hike approx. 3-4 miles to the group campsite over hilly single-track trail.
Sunday, September 7
Hike approx. 6-8 miles back to cars.
Optional group lunch at local restaurant.
Drive back to Chicago.
Prerequisite:
Introduction to Backpacking or equivalent experience required. If you have not completed an overnight trip with our meetup, direct message the organizer with your experience before signing up. Participation is at the discretion of the organizers.
Trip Expectations and Advisory:
No add-ons. If your friend wants to attend, please ask him/her to sign up for the meetup site and join the trip through normal procedures. No pets, children, or other dependents. The waitlist will be governed by a strict "first come, first served" policy.
Meetup messaging is unreliable, and we use email for pre-trip communications. You will be asked to enter your email when you RSVP. Respond to organizer emails in a timely manner or risk forfeiting your spot on the trip. Participation is at the discretion of the organizer.

Transportation:
Trip organizers do not arrange carpools but we do encourage carpooling. If you want to offer or solicit a ride, use the Comments section for the trip. Confirm your travel arrangements before you RSVP for the trip.
Each member is responsible for getting to the meeting point on time. If you are going to be late, contact the trip organizer as this affects the entire group. Each car should make its own gas reimbursement arrangements
Costs:
Up to $10.00 (cost to be confirmed with attendees) payable to organizers, covering hiking fee per person to camp in Forest Glen and other shared trip costs
Gas/tolls if you set up shared rides
