Summer Hike Series 13 - Skokie Lagoons

BAKER'S DOZEN #13!! of the Summer Hiking Series. Sunday August 31th @ 10am

This time let's hike somewhere new! The location is in Northfield, Illinois @ Tower Road Boat Launch of the Skokie Lagoons.

📍Tower Rd, Northfield, IL 60093

The meeting place will be the north end of the parking lot, furthest from the actual boat launch.
Meeting time @ 10am, start of hike time @ 10:10am.

NOTE: I believe there is a porta potty in the immediate area of the parking lot but I can't guarantee what facilities will be available.

The plan is to hike a combo of the North Branch Black Paved Trail and the Skokie Lagoons Inner Trail Loop.
Beginning on the North Branch Black Paved Trail towards the entrance of the Skokie Lagoons Inner Trail, complete the loop, then finish the rest of the North Branch Black Paved Trail back to the Tower Road Boat Launch parking lot.

North Branch Black Paved Trail - 4.6 mi
◽Rated Easy, paved, low coverage. Shared with cyclists and dog walkers.

Skokie Lagoons Inner Trail Loop - 4.2 mi
◽Dirt path with vegetation, possibly of muddy areas.

This hike will total close to 9 miles in distance. Come prepared with appropriate clothing and shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug spray.

We'll take a sit down break with a snack along the Skokie Lagoons Inner Trail.

Before leaving at the end of our hike we'll take a group photo. 📸
