Fall 🍁 Hike Series 18 - Saganashkee Slough (advanced)

It's time for hike #18!! Sunday October 12th @ 10am

This time it's a shorter hike at the Saganashkee Slough in Willow Springs, Illinois. We will meet at the Saganashkee Slough Boat Launch

📍 10700 S 116th Ave, Willow Springs, IL 60480

Meet time @ 10am, Hike @ 10:10am

This is an advanced trail with several challenging areas. There are steep hills, uneven ground, narrow paths, and many rocks to hike over and around while also shared with mountain bikers. It is an in-and-out trail about 2 miles long, stretching along the southern side of the Slough. We will hike from the boat launch to the East side of the Slough and back, totaling about 4 miles.

I would not advise participation if you have issues with ankles, knees, climbing, or balance.

There is a flatter dirt path back to the Boat Launch parking lot that could be an option for the second half of the trail if all are interested.

Since this hike is shorter than our usual hikes we could walk across the street from the boat launch parking lot and hike a portion of the Red Gate Woods hiking system to cover more mileage. TBD
