About us
Calling All Crones
“I think one of the greatest tragedies in modern society is that we forgot the power of the crone. You know, the power of the (grandmothers and elders) in society. And that we stopped gathering around them. We stopped going to them to help make decisions of how this tribe should work.” Chloé Zhao
I’m putting together an inclusive social group - a fun, safe space for self-identified, spunky 55+ women who grew up reading Judy Blume books. Punk, hip-hop, and new wave music played on our stereos. We dove headfirst into third-wave feminism, watched independent movies, built careers and/or families, and changed the world.
Now we’re exhausted and need a nap. But occasionally we’d like to get together, over coffee or cocktails, and talk about:
- The power of hope and action
- Ways to become more engaged with our community
- Menopause and wellness
- Gardening
- Cooking
- Our creative process
- Movies, art, music, and books
- Female empowerment
- Spirituality
- Fitness and aging
- None of the above
- All of the above
- Whatever we damn well like
Members of this group are open-minded, curious, compassionate, and kind. We listen more than we speak. We don’t talk trash about our partners, children, or each other. We are too wise for that. Instead, we support our friends and loved ones without judgment or agenda.
If this sounds like you…join us.
