When Benji meets Jake at an airport, all he expects is a steamy night together. But when Benji falls for Jake, he embarks on a romantic journey that is fraught with complex power dynamics. After the two decide to only see each other once a month in an apartment in Amsterdam, Benji hopes this could lead to the relationship that he has longed for. But as time goes on, Benji becomes more curious about the reason for their infrequent meetings. Through retrospection, DEPARTURES shows the beauty, addictiveness, and pitfalls of what it is to love someone who may or may not love you back.
