Fitness Hike at Kickapoo Woods

I am leading this Forest Preserves of Cook County FITNESS HIKE.
This means, there will be a PACE (not a run, but a brisk pace) and no stopping to chat and bird watch (you can do that after the hike).

Kickapoo Woods has a 1.0 paved loop that we will hike/walk to help increase our cardiovascular endurance.
All are welcome, no one will be left behind...it's a loop...wink, wink!
But come prepared to set some time and distance goals.
WHY 1.5 hrs.? Everyone has there own "fitness" pace.
Agenda:
8:00 a.m. Welcome
8:10 a.m. Warm-up exercises
8:15 a.m. Restrooms and water check
8:20 a.m. Hike begins (if you are pacing yourself for a 5k, you will be able to hike with Claudia for the 16 - 18 min. mile)
9:30 a.m.
You can stop at any time!
GOAL: Hike/walk a 5k (that's 3.1 miles)
BONUS- fresh air, beautiful sky, trees, birds and outdoor adventure-seekers all in one place.
Bring: sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, plenty of water, and a post-workout snack.
You can walk with walking sticks. The trail is accessible for various adaptations if needed.
This is a family-friendly event. Let's go SENIORS! Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
