Pod People!

Details
Update!
Now that a tie-breaking vote has been cast, I can announce what has until now only been To Be Announced: the episode for the August meet will be Pod People! A classic in many senses; one of the first released on home video by Rhino, which makes it the first one that many newer MSTies ever watched! See! Wildlife poaching as you've never seen before! Hear! An indecipherable song ostensibly about cars, maybe? Taste! Smucker's Brand Raspberry Preserves! They taste like real fruit!
Originally conceived as a generic alien movie, then re-worked by its producers into an unauthorized sequel of sorts to a little-known film called "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," Pod People was released under several titles, including "Trumpy Tales" and "Extra-Terrestrial Visitors," but none more memorable than the Film Ventures release, "Pod People." Being a Film Ventures release, of course, PP features an opening and closing credits sequence with footage taken from an entirely different movie! Not for nothing, that movie, "The Galaxy Invader," was just released as a VOD from Rifftrax ( http://www.rifftrax.com/ondemand/galaxy-inv... (http://www.rifftrax.com/ondemand/galaxy-invader))!
Thanks for everyone who has already RSVPed; there's still plenty of time for the rest of you and I do hope to see you there!

The next night at the IAHC is scheduled, but as for which episode to run, I got a few good suggestions, so I'm going to leave it to you. Put in your RSVP which of these episodes you think we should run and I'll pick the most popular a week before the meetup (though I think all three of these will be fun enough that even if you don't get the one you voted for, you'll still come and enjoy). Since Prince of Space was a Mike episode, August 20 will be a Joel episode, and here are the suggestions:
#303 - Pod People
#324 - Master Ninja II
Cinematic Titanic - East Meets Watts
I have a guess which one it will be, but now's your chance to prove me wrong! Or right! I'll watch any of these. So for your own sake, RSVP early and get your vote in!
Also, July was a freebie, but starting in August, I'll be instituting the $7 fee if we get fewer than 15 people. Just a heads up, and hopefully an incentive to bring friends!

Pod People!
