Down In Front: Ghost!

Details
Patrick Swayze was on a roll in the late '80s, a powerhouse of classic cinema. In four years he gave us The Outsiders, Red Dawn, Dirty Dancing, Road House -- nothing we wouldn't like to take a crack at -- and his most impressive features were these: he could convincingly play a dumb guy in any context -- a war movie, a romantic period piece, a bar -- and that every movie he was in had one moment or line that will outlive the rest of the film in the collective consciousness, from "Pain don't hurt" to the lift at the end of Dirty Dancing, and Ghost is no exception; the pottery scene was essentially ripped from its context to use in pop culture references for decades since the last time a person actually watched the movie in its entirety on purpose.
Seriously, we love Swayze, but his characters are all kinda dumb.
Down In Front is riffing Ghost, starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg, September 27th at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro, with full bar and menu available to us, so come hungry! The bistro is on Lincoln Ave, near the intersection of Lincoln and Irving Park, a block from both the Irving Park + Damen/Lincoln and Damen + Byron bus stops, and a six minute walk from the Irving Park stop on the Blue Line. They have a small parking lot, and paid street parking is also available.
The event is free, with a humble request to pay what you can to support us, or to sign on to our Patreon, www.patreon.com/downinfrontlive, for as little as a dollar a month.
So we'll see you Down In Front for the Ghost on September 27th! Oh, and no talking during the movie; that's our job.
