Catherine Chevalier Woods
Details
I am reconstituting the Saturday hike out of here, to see whether there is any interest in it. There has not been much interest in this hike in the past, but that has more to do with me than the hike. I'm pretty anti-social, I hike for fitness and exercise AND because I have a built-in audience for my humor. I'm pretty uninterested in flora and fauna, unless I can eat it [mulberries, deer].
I should put potential hikers on notice that people on this hike have occasionally confronted snakes jumping out of trees, so be forewarned! (This comment is in reference to Alice, a former group member who has since moved back to Africa, hopefully not a reflection on me.)
Notwithstanding that, It's a nice area, along the Des Plaines River and much like places on the North Branch of the Chicago River. It is not far from O'Hare and off of I-90. The address is 5522 N East River Rd (for mapping purposes), opposite W Gregory St and between Bryn Mawr and Catalpa Avenues. Coming from the east you get off I-90 at Cumberland Ave (North) and go LEFT on Higgins (West) until you hit East River Rd. Make a LEFT on East River Road and, after crossing the highway, look for the parking lot on the RIGHT side of the road. It is marked as Catherine Chevalier Woods. I park near the entrance.
We'll Typically go 4.5-5.5 miles. 9 AM start.
I am instituting a NO POLITICS policy. Please refrain from discussing American politics, it's not a good idea.
I drive a red VW Jetta, not a silver Sonata.

Unfortunately, I am the same man I was before.
