Chicago Puzzle Club is hosting a multi-division teams speed puzzle competition in Chicago! The Novice speed puzzle competition division will have teams of up to 4 people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 1.5-hour time limit (10:30am - 12:00pm). The Challenge speed puzzle competition division will have teams of up to 4 people compete to finish a 1,000-piece puzzle within a 2.5-hour time limit (1:00pm - 3:30pm). Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winning teams in each division!

***NOTE: If you were a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winning team in one of our past competitions, we encourage you to sign up for the Challenge 1,000-piece puzzle competition division and to hold off on signing up for the Novice 500-piece puzzle competition unless there are remaining spots after Saturday, April 4, 2026.***

We will have a puzzle swap table where you can take a puzzle in exchange for each puzzle that you drop off. If there are leftover puzzles, you can take as many as you want home.

Novice 500-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:

  • One ticket will cover a team of up to 4 people and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
  • Puzzle competition starts promptly at 1:00pm and will end at 3:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For teams that don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.

Challenge 1,000-Piece Speed Puzzle Competition Information:

  • One ticket will cover a team of up to 4 people and includes the competition puzzle, puzzle bag, and free snacks and beverages.
  • Puzzle competition starts promptly at 1:00pm and will end at 3:30pm, so please arrive early to make the competition start time. For teams that don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.

Additional Information:

  • Teams can take home their puzzle used in the competition.
  • The puzzle swap will run from 10:00am - 4:00pm.
  • Check-in starts at 10:00am for the Novice speed puzzle competition and 12:30pm for the Challenge speed puzzle competition.
  • For competitors who don’t finish the puzzle within the allotted time, remaining pieces will be tallied for the ranking.
  • There is a free parking lot and street parking.
  • There will be an opportunity to win door prizes.
  • Individuals must be 16 years of age and older to compete.
  • No alcohol is allowed, but feel free to bring your own non-alcoholic drinks or snacks. Free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
  • Competition will be held at Clarendon Fieldhouse at 4501 N. Clarendon Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640. This venue is wheelchair accessible.
