Dinner with Neighbors in Des Plaines is a chance to meet other Des Plaines residents, make new connections, catch up with familiar faces, and enjoy a delicious dinner together at one of the community’s longtime local restaurants.

Mehanata Restaurant has been serving the Des Plaines community for 18 years and specializes in flavorful Bulgarian, Balkan, Eastern European, and Mediterranean cuisine.


Known for their popular grilled meat combinations, generous portions, traditional dishes, and full bar service, Mehanata offers plenty of choices for everyone to enjoy.

How Dinner Works

There is no fixed menu or group meal package. Each guest will order whatever they would like from the regular Mehanata menu and will be responsible for paying their own check.

Come hungry, bring your family, a neighbor, friends, or come on your own and meet some new people from around Des Plaines!
