Observation-Based Play Group: Babies

This is an ongoing play group for babies (pre-mobile to early mobile babies). We meet every Monday at Ted Lechowicz Woods.

Observation-Based Play Groups are based on the RIE® philosophy developed by Magda Gerber as well as the work of Emmi Pikler. The goal of these play groups is to provide a space for parents to observe and learn about their child’s unfolding development, see the RIE Educaring® approach in practice and build community with like-minded families.
These classes provide an opportunity to explore respectful parenting practices through observation and discussion in a relaxed and safe environment.

# Topics Explored

• Gaining knowledge through observation.
• The importance of allowing children to move freely and develop at their own pace.
• The benefits of allowing uninterrupted playtime.
• How clearly defined limits and expectations support the relationship.
