Join Chicago Sews for our April Bring Your Own Machine (BYOM) Open Sew!

As the seasons begin to shift, it’s the perfect time to carve out a few dedicated hours to sit down with your machine and make meaningful progress on your projects.

We’ll gather at the Austin-Irving Park Branch of the Chicago Public Library for a relaxed, welcoming morning of sewing and conversation. Whether you’re finishing up a lingering WIP, cutting into fresh spring fabric, or simply building momentum, BYOM is designed to give you the space and time to focus — alongside fellow sewists who understand the joy of a productive stitch session.

BYOM events are intentionally low-pressure and social. Work at your own pace, share what you’re making if you’d like, and enjoy being in a room full of people who just get it. All experience levels are welcome — beginners, seasoned sewists, and everyone in between.
