PAWS and Medication Side Effects Support Group

Details
Hi everyone,
This group is a peer led support group open to:
- Those on prescribed medications struggling with the side effects of being on medications.
- Those off prescribed medications and struggling with short or long term symptoms of withdrawal (also known as PAWS - post acute withdrawal symptoms)
I want to clarify that this is not a group for anyone who is taking medications recreationally, it is not an addiction group in that sense. It is for those struggling with side effects from the medications they are/were prescribed. Please message me/comment with any questions.
This group is a support group, a place to express yourself, speak about your journey, receive support, and create an environment to support others on their journey.
This is not a group for or against any type of prescribed medication or tapering method. It is a space that is open to your experience.
Group guidelines.. try your best to:
-speak from your own experience, refrain from giving advice
-stay off all electronic devices, please step outside group area to answer a call or text
-be mindful of how much time you are speaking, we want everyone to have a turn.
-Understand that everyone experiences medications differently, some have good experiences, some have bad.
This will be the 2nd group I am running around this topic, and the first in person one, and a great way to receive/give support as well as feel less alone on this journey.
We will start with an ice breaker, introductions and have a mindfulness activity.
We will be meeting on the front steps of Shabbona park, then walking over to a space in the grass to sit. There is street parking all around the park district and in the parking lot ( can be found off of Cornelia street). Try your best to get there early because the park itself is big so you may have to walk a bit if you park on the side streets :)
Bring a blanket, lawn chair or mat to sit on because we will be doing the group outdoors in the grass.
Please message me or comment with any questions about the group.
