Día de Muertos Exhibition @ the National Museum of Mexican Art
Details
This year marks the 40th annual Día de Muertos exhibition at the National Museum of Mexican Art. As they reflect on four decades of collecting, preserving, and celebrating Mexican art and culture, this exhibition looks back through the Permanent Collection to trace the evolution of Day of the Dead and the museum itself. Just as Day of the Dead keeps the memories of loved ones alive, the museum preserves memory through art.
Admission is always free to the Museum. They rely on the support of generous donors to help keep their doors open and accessible to all visitors regardless of their ability to pay.
More information on the exhibition can be found here: Where Memory Lives
There is also a Día de los Muertos Xicágo event taking place in and around the museum, a Day of the Dead Market that we can check out after, and/or plenty of coffee shops and restaurants we can check out! Tons to do! :)
