๐Ÿ“– Beasts of Burden: Animal and Disability Liberation by Sunaura Taylor โ€“ Casual Book Discussion

The focus will be on the intersection between disability justice and animal rights, examining how ableism and speciesism reinforce each other. Weโ€™ll explore how dominant cultural beliefs about independence, productivity, and what is considered "normal" shape the experiences of both disabled people and animals, and why true liberation requires challenging and transforming these assumptions.

Anyone interested in these topics is welcome, whether youโ€™ve finished the book or are still reading. All attendees are kindly asked to please order plant-based out of respect for the purpose of the group.

Lastly, please be serious about your RSVP. This is designed to be an intimate experience, not a casual drop-in event. I reserve the right to remove members who no-show or who cancel their confirmed RSVP within 24 hours of the event starting. Thank you for your understanding.
