๐Ÿ“– Muzzling a Movement: The Effects of Counterterrorism Law, Money, and Politics on Animal Activism (Revised & Updated Edition) by Dara Lovitz โ€“ Casual Book Discussion

How do laws, political pressures, and financial interests shape the boundaries of activism? What happens when advocacy movements intersect with counterterrorism policy and national security frameworks?

Our next book, Muzzling a Movement (Revised & Updated Edition), examines how legislation, funding dynamics, and political narratives have influenced the landscape of animal activism. Weโ€™ll discuss the history and implications of these developments, and how legal frameworks can affect social movements more broadly.

The author will also be joining us for a part of the discussion by video call to share insights and answer a few questions.

You donโ€™t need to be vegan or have finished the book to attend. Anyone interested in social movements, law, public policy, or animal advocacy is welcome. Please keep your RSVP up to date out of respect for other members who may want to attend, as well as for the restaurant reservation.

Hope to see you there!
